Mealworms Galore!

Finally it is Spring, and it’s time for reptiles to come out of brumation! This is honestly my favorite time of year, because it mean Sammy won’t be as grumpy when I want to hold here. (I’m a cuddler, and let’s just say that geckos aren’t, especially during their brumation period). Since Sammy has been in brumation since, oh I don’t know, maybe late November, there’s quite a bit I need to get done.

The most important thing that I need to do right now is buy new mealworms, because the ones I have left over from the Fall are starting to look a little… gross. And dead. (They are not legitimately dead, but they don’t squirm around like they should, so I just consider them dead).

I like to order my mealworms from Rainbow Mealworms because they always arrive alive and fat and perfect, but I’ve been searching around for other places to buy them from. (I like a good change ever once in awhile). I thought that maybe you guys would like to see a comparison of mealworm sellers (is that the correct term?) side by side. (Kind of like Progressive!)

Soooo, here we go!

Rainbow Mealworms $3.99

Fluker Farms $8.50

Timberline Fisheries $9.59

Mealworms Live $19.95

Worm Man $13.40

These are just a few of the many, many, MANY mealworm sellers out there, but these were also the top five to come up on Bing. (Yes, I know, I’m a hipster. No Google for me). All of these are comparing 500 large mealworms, not including the cost of shipping, as that will change depending on where you live.

Where do you buy your mealworms?

Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for visiting GGB!
